Recorded April 2021

This collection captures that moment in the springtime of 2021 when vaccines against COVID-19 were first rolling out. In the "before times," the two of us would play music together at home or on stage a couple times a week, as a duo and as parts of larger groups. Once COVID hit in March 2020, well, that all changed. By March of 2021 we were eager to get our second dose of vaccine and longed for something musical to look forward to. This was the product of that reunion.

The music on this record was drawn largely from the repertoire of the thriving old-time music community we have in the Finger Lakes. How lucky we were to have this resource was put into stark relief with the onset of pandemic lockdowns, which all but shuttered live music and in-person camaraderie. We took for granted how much the abundant live performances and gatherings bolstered the health of our communities (and us, too). This session was a chance to reconnect with that abundance, and move forward with a new appreciation as we entered a new era. We're grateful and indebted to this community, and we hope we have done right by you all with this EP.
